Nagarjuna’s “Discourse on Eyes” mentioned by Bo Juyi is preserved in a later medical compendium viz. Yi fang lei ju醫方類聚 (a collection of various medical prescriptions) which was compiled by Jin Li-meng, a Korean who studied medicine in China at the beginning of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644 CE). The first essay in this book categorically states that the method for the removal of cataract was first taught by Bodhisattva Nagarjuna.
