After the 1st century CE, Yogacara with doctrines of consciousness-only started to appear in Indian Mahayana. Additionally, with the theory teaching that our understanding of reality comes from our own mind, it is also named as the *Vijnaptimātratā* School (“Consciousness-Only School” in Chinese). Faxian School obtained its name because of dealing with the phenomenal appearances of *dharma*.
