Jaimini flourishing in ca 2nd century BCE is believed to be the founder of the Mimamsa school. His *Mimamsa Sutra* summed up the general rules in use. The extant *Mimamsa Sutra* was finalised in ca 1ˢᵗ century CE and later mimamsakas made some notable contributions.
