Among all poets, Su Shi (1036-1101) was the most influenced by Buddhism. His sincere friendship with the Buddhist Liao Yuan (also named Fo Yin) became a favourite tale before and after his death. His poem *Climb Guangli Pavillion at the Peak of Mount Chang* clearly conveyed his Buddhist thinking. Although seldom associated with Buddhists, Lu You (1125-1209) was also influenced by Buddhism. For example, his poem *To My Son* voiced his patriotism, and was also impacted by Buddhist thought.
