In 1981, the Chinese Foreign Literature Research Symposium in Beijing for the first time convened an academic conference on Tagore, a number of papers published. The Chinese people had a deep and profound understanding about the poet and his works. People started to research and appraise Tagore with a new vision. There appeared many works of master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation studying the topic of Tagore’s short stories and poem collection - *Gitanjali*, and other works.
