In the rites of daily life, influences of Buddhism were obvious. For example, people praying to Avalokitesvara and Maitreya for sons, taboos for pregnant women, fostering children in temples after birth, giving children Buddhist names, follow Hetu-pratyaya for marriage, praying to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas when someone is sick, inviting monks to set up bodhimanda, chant *sutras* and release souls from purgatory and so on.
