⁶ वङ्गान्युत्खाय तरसा नेता नौसाधनोद्यतान् । निक्खान जयस्तम्भान्गङ्गास्रोतोन्तरेषु सः ।। (Raghuvamśa IV, 36) Mallinātha explains Gaṅgā-sroto-natreṣu as Gaṅgāyāḥ srotasāṃ pravāhānām=antareṣu dvīpeṣu; cf. gīt-āntareṣu, ‘in the intervals of singing’, vāṣpa-salil-āntareṣu, ‘in the interval of weeping’; na mṛṇāla-sūtram racitaṃ stan-āntare, ‘……in the space between the breasts’, etc. See below, pp. 139-40; Ch.
