Purāṇas for the discovery of the source of the Nile (see his Cunningham's Ancient Geography of India, p. xxxviii) without noticing that the Puranic chroniclers could hardly have any knowledge of the source of the Nile, about which even the Greek geographer Ptolemy of Alexandria in Egypt had no precise information in the 2nd century A.D.
