1. Śoṇa—modern Sone which rises in the Amarkantak range and falls into the Ganges near Pāṭnā in Bihar.
2. Mahānadī—rises from the Raigarh region of Madhya Pradesh and runs through Orissa to fall into the Bay of Bengal.
