209. There are some important syllabic variations which affect the cadence only. These are (i) the catalectic *Jagatī* verse, in which the *Triṣṭubh* cadence is found in a lyric or *Jagatī* stanza; (ii) the extended *Triṣṭubh* verse, in which the *Jagatī* cadence is found in a *Triṣṭubh* stanza; and (iii) the hypersyllabic verse, in which the *Triṣṭubh* or *Jagatī* cadence is extended by two syllables.
