H. *बादल* "cloud," if inverted from *वारिद*, may be an instance, but the derivation is not quite satisfactory. In M. *वादळ* means "a dust-storm," which would suggest the Skr. *वातर*, *वातल*, or *वातुल*. In H., P., B., and O., however, the word means "a rain-cloud," not "a dust-cloud."
