v1.c7.34

Pali seems to have the best claim to be considered as pure Magadhi, and in the Mahawanso, one of the chief works in that language, we find the same rule, e.g. वक्तव्यं = वत्तब्बं, प्राप्त = पत्त, युक्त = युत्त. Numerous instances may be collected from every page of the Mahawanso, or any other Pali work. The rule is apparently absolute and without exception, so much so, that any deviations from it may at once be set down as errors of copyists.
