Ruyyaka, who also bore the name of Rucaka¹ and had the Kashmiriān title of Rājānaka prefixed to his name, was the son of Rājānaka Tilaka² who, Jayaratha informs us (pp. 115, 124, 205), wrote a commentary or critique on Udbhaṭa called *Udbhaṭa-viveka* or *Udbhaṭa-vicāra*.
