P. 244. *Śiṅgabhūpāla*. M. T. Narasimhiengar in his ed. of *Subhāṣita-nīvī* states that Śiṅgama Nāyaḍu, our author was a contemporary of Prauḍha Devarāja of Vijayanagara (1422-1447); but P. R. Bhandarkar in his *Note on Śiṅgabhūpāla* (*Proc. of the First Oriental Conference, Poona*, vol. ii, 1916, p. 425) doubts the correctness of this date.
