This suggests that probably originally there were these 5 *Cheyasuttas* only, and that in course of time *Pañcakappa* was reckoned as the 6th *Cheyasutta*,² and when it was lost, it was replaced by *Jiyakappa* of Jinabhadra Gaṇi.³ As stated in the ending portion⁴ of the *Bhāsa* on *Jiyakappa*, this *Jiyakappa* represents the essence of *Kappa*, *Vavahāra* and *Nisīha*.
