Alaṁkāraçāstra* (1911); *ZDMG.* lxvi. 283 ff.; lxvii. 1 ff.; lxxiii. 189 ff.) deals with some of the figures, but not always satisfactorily; his desire to place Bhāmaha before Kālidāsa leads him to deny the former's obvious reference to the *Meghadūta* (*Indian Poetry*, p. 15), even though he realizes that Kālidāsa was really the older.
