He was a great poet and his verse combines in it the fluency of lay fancies and the sanctity of theological allusions. His Vaikuṇṭhastava describes the glory of Viṣṇu in Vaikuṇṭha, his Atimānuṣastava,¹² the great deeds of Viṣṇu in his incarnations, his Sundarabāhustava, the grace and purposes of idolic forms of Viṣṇu, his Varadarājaṣṭava the particular merit of Varadarāja of Kancī and Śrīstava, the qualities of Lakṣmī.
