The style of composition and the subject of discussion in the last portion of the Kālsī, Shāhbāzgarhi, and Mansherāh versions of R.E. IX are almost similar to those in the Kathāvatthu (composed by Moggaliputta Tissa in the third council held under the patronage of Asoka), and the Sāmaññaphala Sutta respectively. (Bhandarkar and Majumdar, Inscriptions of Asoka, pp. 34-36.)
