A different order seems to have been observed in the Âtreyī-śâkhâ of the Taittirīya-brâhmaṇa, for, although the same chapters are here ascribed to Kaṭha, their arrangement must have differed, unless we suppose that the author of the Kāṇḍānukrama introduced an alteration. He writes: "Tāvat Tittiriḥ provācha. (Tittiris Taittirīyaśākhāpravartako 'nyebhyo munibhyaḥ śiṣyebhyaḥ provācha.)
