⁴ This Śâkhâ is spelt Sânkhyâyana, Śânkhyâyana, Śânkhâ-yana and Śânkhâyana. The last, however, is the most correct spelling. See Pâṇini, Gaṇapâṭha, aśvâdi, and kunjâdi. This Śâkhâ is omitted by accident in MS. E. I. H.
