In order to place this Kuru-Saṃvaraṇa in the Dāśarājña period, we have to bring in Kavaṣa Ailūṣa, who has been referred to earlier. The Aitareya Brāhmaṇa proclaims the synchronism of Tura Kāvaṣeya and Janamejaya Pārikṣita.¹⁴ Tura Kāvaṣeya, who consecrated Janamejaya Pārikṣita, was the son of Kavaṣa Ailūṣa.15 Janamejaya Pārikṣita, according to the Purāṇas and the Mahābhārata, was the grandson of Kuru-Saṃvaraṇa.16 So, Kuru-Saṃvaraṇa, the grandfather, naturally belongs to the period of Kavaṣa Ailūṣa, the father, who was old and famous at the period of the Dāśarājña.¹⁷
