Beginning with grosser elements, we find that the Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad regards water as the origin of all things. "....from the waters was born Satya or Truth; Satya produced Brahman, Brahman gave birth to Prajāpati, and from Prajāpati were born the gods;...."18 Not Brahman but Satya is the ultimate 'concrete' existence here.
