P. 58, note ⁵⁰. The Śáṅkh. Gṛihya has been published, with translation and notes, by Herm. Oldenberg; see *I. St.*, xv. 1–166. There exists also another recension of it, which is designated as Kaushítaka-Gṛihya, but which, according to Oldenberg, is rather to be understood as Śámbavya-Gṛihya. Its text is ‘nowise identical’ with the Śáṅkh. Gṛih., ‘but it has borrowed from the latter by far the greatest part both of its matter and form.’ The last two books of the Śáṅkh. Gṛih. are not used in it, and a great deal is lacking besides.
