¹⁹⁰ See text and translation in my essay *Die Ráma-Tápaníya-Upani-* *shad* (1864); text and Náráy.'s comm. in *Bibl. Ind.* also (1873); in the introductions the two sections are called *pañchatriṅśattama* and *shaṭtriṅśa* respectively. The time of composition is probably even later than above supposed. In the first place, according to Nṛisiṅha's statements in his *Smṛityarthasára* (see Aufrecht, *Catalogus*, pp. 285^b, 286^a), Rámánuja flourished as late as the twelfth century (*śake* 1049 = A.D. 1127). But further, the Rámatápaní displays still closer relations to Rámánanda, who is supposed to have lived towards the end of the fourteenth century; see my essay, p. 382.
