²⁴⁶ As also in the separate analyses of various Puráṇas, now collected in vol. i. of Wilson's *Essays on Sanskrit Literature* (ed. Rost, 1864). Above all, we have here to mention, further, the minute accounts given of the Puráṇas by Aufrecht in his *Catal. Cod. Sansc. Bibl. Bodl.*, pp. 7-87. The *Vishṇu-Puráṇa* has been recently published at Bombay, with the commentary of Ratnagarbhabhaṭṭa (1867); Wilson's translation of it has been republished, edited by Fitzedward Hall in five vols. (1864-1870), with material additions and corrections. There are now also several editions of the *Bhágavata-Puráṇa*; amongst them, one with the comm. of Śrídharasvámin (Bombay, 1860). The *Márkaṇḍeya-Puráṇa* has been edited in the *Bibl. Indica* by K. M. Banerjea (1855-1862); and the *Agni-Puráṇa* is now appearing in the same series (begun 1870; caps. 1-214 thus far). An impression of the *Kalki-Puráṇa* appeared at Calcutta in 1873; and lithographed editions of the *Liṅga-Puráṇa* (1858) and of portions of the *Padma*, *Skanda*, *Garuḍa*, *Brahmavaivarta*, and other Puráṇas have appeared at Bombay; see *I. Str.*, ii. 245 ff., 301 ff.
