v2.c19.s1.44

It presupposes oot only the texts of the Vinayapiṭaka and of al! the Nikāyas of the Suttapiṭaka, but other books of the Abhidhammapiṭaka too.¹ It is therefore certainly one of the latest works of the Tipiṭaka, and, in the nature of things, it would be quite feasible to assume that this book was not written until the time of the compilation of the Canon by Tissa himself, and that the members of the Council appended it to the whole work by way of a crowning piece.
