[^4): Book I is called *Sīlakkhandhavagga* after its contents (it treats of sīla, "virtue"), Book II is called *Mahāvagga* after its bulk (it contains mostly Suttas, the titles of which begin with mahā,—"great"), Book III is called *Pāṭikavagga*, *i.e.*, "the section beginning with the Pāṭika-Sutta."
