¹ According to Buddhaghosa (Sumaṅgalavilāsinī, p. 22 f.), however, it is the *whole* Tipīṭaka (not the Suttapiṭaka) which is divided into 5 Nikāyas, and he counts the Vinayapiṭaka and the Abhidhammapiṭaka with the Khuddakanikāya. Likewise Gandhavaṃsa (JPTS 1886, p. 57).
