³ It is not certain what the Sanskrit title of this work was. It was translated into Chinese as *A-yu-wang-ch'uan* (approximately Aśokarajāvadāna) by the Parthian Fa-k'in between 281 and 306, and in a shorter version as *A-yu-wang-king* (approximately Aśokarāja-Sūtra) in the year 512 by a certain Saṅghabhara or Saṅghabhata.
