Among the lyrical poems which are ascribed to Aśvaghoṣa, the only one we know is the Gaṇḍīstotra-Gāthā, which A. von Staël-Holstein² has attempted to reconstruct in the Sanskrit original on the basis of the Chinese transliteration. It is a beautiful poem, worthy of Aśvaghoṣa both in form and contents.
