² Kṣemendra knew the work of Bāṇa. Bāṇa has probably changed the names of persons and places and has introduced into the story more of complications. The concluding portion, particularly the one completed by the son of the poet, contains many deviations. Hence he must have known the plan of his father. Cf. Mankowski in WZKM 15, 1901, 213 ff.
