The number of historical poems that we have is comparatively small. But it cannot be said that because more such works are not available to us probably they did not exist at all. On the other hand, the fact is that interest for old myths and heroic tales has always been greater than for temporal lords, and, therefore, such works particularly when a dynasty became extinct, were no more copied.
