v3.c35.s8.52
² Like Vikramāditya, who has been made the central point of Sanskrit literature, the name of Sātavāhana later got associated with the whole of Prākrit poetry of later years. But since Sātavāhana (or Śālivāhana) is the family-title of all the Āndhra kings, all the traditions that refer to King Sātavāhana (e.g. in the Kathāsaritsāgara and in Prabandhacintāmaṇi) do not have any historical value. The Jainas have naturally made him a Jaina Saint. Cf. Ras. S. V. N. Maṇḍalik in JBRAS 10, 1873, 127 ff.
