The dramas and anthologies show that Prākrit lyrics existed also in later times. Hemacandra in his Prākrit grammar cites a number of beautiful little stanzas in the Apabhraṁśa dialect³. We do not know the time when they were composed. But in their nature they differ so little from the songs of Sattasaī that some specimens are given here :
