पौरजानपदक्षोभापादकत्वात् । *Vyavahāra-prakāśa* p. 44 Aparārka, while commenting upon *Yāj*. II. 6, expressly explains पौरराष्ट्रविरुद्धः पौरराष्ट्राचारविरुद्धः। and not ‘to offer advice’. The verse in question, quoted below,¹ states that the citizens went home after bidding farewell to the king, not after offering him advice. Any body acquainted with the *Rāmāyaṇa* episode knows full well that it was the palace intrigue, and not the wishes of the citizens, which determined the fate of Rāma.
