¹ As to the authenticity of the Arthasāstra, Dr. Jolly remarks, “It can no longer be called into doubt after the learned disquisition contained in a paper published in Germany by Prof. Hillebrandt of Breslau.” Dr. Jolly adds, “We consider this one of the most important discoveries ever made in the whole range of Sanskrit literature.” Mysore Review, May, 1909.
