The country of Pauṇḍra is not mentioned by Vātsyāyana, but is once referred to by the Commentary to illustrate the sport of *Kadamba-yuddha* in which, it is said that instead of the soft balls of Kadamba-flower, the Pauṇḍras used sticks and stones. Mithilā is similarly mentioned by the commentator in connection with a local sport¹.
