The *Atharva-Veda Pariśiṣṭa* leaves no doubt that the Vedic Bāhlīka was Bactria in as much as it speaks of the Bāhlīkas in a group *Saka-yavana-Tukhara-Bāhlīkaśca*.⁶ These Tukhāras are no doubt the Tokharas (Tu-huo-lo) through whose country Yuan Chwang passed to the country of Balkh.
