Conscious that some of the many defects enumerated above are unavoidable and others are of a too technical character, Vātsyāyana, as in a previous case, when he quoted Ghoṭakamukha, quotes a simpler and more liberal rule from an ancient authority, in this case the Gṛhyasūtra of Āpastamba.
