Aryaka gathers from the conversation of the maid and the driver that it is Vasantasena's cart. He enters it surreptitiously imitating Vasantasena's movements. The searchers for Aryaka overtake this cart. They come to know that it is Charudatta's cart proceeding to the Pushpakarandaka garden and carrying Vasantasena. A soldier inspects the cart and finds Aryaka there, but he lets him go.
