The word *govinda* is not (as inferred by the *PTS. Dictionary* and in the *Dialogues*) the equivalent of a Sanskrit *gavendra* but, in accordance with Pāṇini knowledge "dies no more" (*na punar mriyate*) but lives out his life to old age (AB. VIII. 25).³⁵
