The Marathas appear to have had two banners²⁴ Jaripaṭkā and Bhagavā zeṇḍā. It is doubtful whether both of them were used for military purposes. The latter, Bhagavā zeṇḍā, has been identified with Pārijāta-dhvaja attributed in literature to Sāmbhājī.
