The *Paṭṭiśa*⁸⁵ is a kind of spear with a keen edge made of copper or iron. Dr. Oppert translates it as a battle-axe. This does not seem to be correct, because the same weapon is mentioned in the previous list. There was a hand-guard in the handle. It had two keen blades of iron and measured the height of a man. Mention is also made of it both in the *Śukranīti* and the *Agni Purāṇa*. Kauṭalya speaks of it as a razor-like weapon.
