The Iṣu is translated as a hand sword by Dr. Oppert, but may be an arrow or a reed-like weapon. Halāyudha identifies it with Kāśāstra.⁶⁶ It had a bent front, and the whole measured two cubits in length. Four movements were associated with it. Perhaps Atikāya, the Rākṣasa, used it in his engagement with Lakṣmaṇa.
