25. In a performance of the *agnicayana* ritual by Nambudiri brahmins of Kerala in 1975 (recorded on film and tape by J. F. Staal and R. Gardner), the whole of the ritual emplacement was even burned. The spectacle distinctly brought to mind the *pralaya* conflagration at the end of a world period.
