The Bān is Nº. 77 of the list of weapons in the Āīn, i, 112, and is figure 62 of plate xiv. It was adorned with a small triangular flag of green, white, or red. Rocket men marched on each side of the emperor's moving throne or of his elephant. This practice was imitated by the Dutch envoy Kötelär, in his procession into Lāhor in 1712 (Valentyn, iv, 283).
