*Bhīlah*. These were men of the wild tribe whose home is in the rugged country between Ajmer and Gujarāt. They are described by an 18th century writer, (Anand Rām, Mukhliṣ, *Mirāt-ul-Iṣṭilāḥ*, fol. 184*b*) as being in their own country nothing but highway robbers and skilful hunters, wearing clothes mostly of leaves. Their principal weapon, whieh no doubt they brought with them when in the emperor’s service, was the long bow of bambu called *kamanth*, which has been already described (p. 95).
