Another instance is when Dārā Shukoh was sent to recover Qandahār. He reached that place in thirty three marches from Multān (Raverty, “Notes”, 22). Assuming that his route was by the Bolān pass, the distance may be estimated as 608 miles. This gives an average daily march of 18.4 miles.
