The city of Rājagaha was called Giribbaja because it was surrounded by five hills, viz., Paṇḍava, Gijjhakūṭa, Vebhāra, Isigili and Vepulla.⁶⁸¹ In the *Mahābhārata*, the five hills are named as Vaihāra, Vārāha, Vṛsabha, Ṛsigiri and Caityaka.⁶⁸²
