On the above mentioned mountain-ranges there are six lakes, viz., Padma, Mahāpadma, Tigiñchi, Kesari, Mahāpuṇḍarīka and Puṇḍarīka from which flow the great fourteen rivers The first two rivers, viz, Gaṅgā and Sindhu flow from the lake Padma situated on the Himavata mountain.¹²
